Lake Charles Premium Roofing: Roof Replacement, Storm Repair and Deck Work
Roofing for Lake Charles and the six parishes around it. We inspect the deck first and quote the sheathing as its own line.
- ✓Licensed by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors
- ✓Deck sheathing quoted as its own line, before the shingle price
- ✓Every tarp penetration mapped, then sealed or replaced at tear-off
- ✓Permit pulled and inspection scheduled on every reroof
Why Lake Charles Chooses Lake Charles Premium Roofing
- ✓We inspect from inside the attic before we get on the roof, because in this parish the evidence that decides your scope is on the underside of the sheathing.
- ✓Your quote separates deck work from roof work with a per-sheet price in writing, so a soft panel is a number you already agreed to rather than a change order.
- ✓We charge for inspections and never credit them against a job. That is the only way the report stays a report instead of a sales document with photographs.
- ✓One manufacturer's system, ordered in a single production lot, with the lot numbers handed to you on the invoice so your warranty registration actually goes through.
- ✓We will hand-seal a wind-loosened roof rather than replace it when the shingles are sound, and we do enough of that work to know when it stops being the right call.
- ✓We do not offer to absorb your deductible, and we will not represent you to your adjuster, because in Louisiana that is a licensed role and we do not hold it.
How It Works
Attic first, roof second
We start under the deck with a light, marking soft sheathing, old batten-screw rings and any daylight at the ridge. Then we go up top for the sealant bond test, fastener check and flashing survey. You get photographs with locations written on them and a deck condition map, not a verbal summary in the driveway.
A written scope with the deck priced separately
Your quote carries a per-sheet price for sheathing and a per-foot price for fascia, listed before the shingle number. If the deck turns out sound, those lines come out and the price drops. We would rather show you the arithmetic up front than deliver a change order on the second morning.
Permit, then tear-off
Louisiana requires a permit and an inspection for every reroof, so we pull it and schedule the inspector. Tear-off goes to bare deck, one slope at a time, with the old tarp layout in hand so the crew knows which sheathing to check and which fasteners to pull and seal.
Install, inspect, and hand over the paperwork
One manufacturer's system end to end, ordered in a single lot, with the lot numbers on your invoice for warranty registration. We walk the roof with you before the dumpster leaves, roll a magnet across the yard twice, and hand over the inspection card and the written workmanship warranty.
Our Roofing Services in Lake Charles, LA

Roof Replacement
Replacing a roof in Calcasieu Parish is a sheathing job with shingles on top. The deck under your 2021 roof spent five weeks in 2020 holding down a tarp, and nobody wrote down what that did to it.

Roof Leak Repair
Most leaks we chase in Lake Charles are not flashing failures. They are 2020 tarp screws that nobody pulled, sitting in the middle of a field of shingles where no reasonable person would think to look for water.

Storm Damage Restoration
Southwest Louisiana homes carry two named-storm events six weeks apart, and five years on the paperwork still matters. Sorting what Laura did from what Delta did is the first job on almost every restoration scope we write here.

Hail Damage Roofing
Hail is not what breaks roofs in Calcasieu Parish, and we will say that before we say anything else. Southwest Louisiana does get hail out of spring squall lines, but the damage that put this parish under tarps was wind and water.

Wind Damage Roofing
The wind damage that matters here is usually invisible from the driveway. A shingle that lost its sealant bond in 2020 still looks fine, still lies flat on a calm day, and lifts like a page in a book every time a squall comes up the Calcasieu.

Roof Inspections
Our inspections start in your attic, not on your roof. In Lake Charles the evidence that decides your scope is on the underside of the sheathing, and you cannot see one bit of it from a ladder.

Asphalt Shingle Roofs
Architectural asphalt is the right shingle for almost every house in this parish. The question worth asking is not which brand to buy.

Metal Roofing
Metal makes real sense on the right house here, and the finish matters more than the metal underneath it. Along the Calcasieu Ship Channel you have plant emissions and gulf air working on the same panel, and that combination is what the cheap coatings are not warranted against.

Tile Roofing
We service tile in Lake Charles, and we will also tell you we would not put it on a new house here. Tile belongs to markets with different problems than ours, and the local inventory is small enough that every tile roof is a one-off.

Flat & Low-Slope Roofing
The low-slope roofs on Lake Charles houses are almost all add-ons. A carport, a back porch, a room built out under the main slope in 1978.

Roof Coatings & Sealing
Sell you a coating over a storm-patched deck and we have taken your money to make your problem worse. On most Lake Charles houses that is precisely what a residential roof coating would do, so the answer on this page is usually to spend nothing.

Roof Ventilation
Attic ventilation on rebuild-era roofs here fails for a dull reason: the slot never got cut. A ridge vent screwed down over solid sheathing looks entirely correct from the street and moves exactly no air, and we find it often enough that we now check it first.

Skylights
Skylights on this coast have one honest rule: buy the unit with the manufacturer's own flashing kit and let the factory own the waterproofing. Site-built curbs flashed by whoever was on the roof that day are the ones that leak, and 2020 was hard on them.

Gutters & Downspouts
Gutters here are not really about capacity, they are about where the water lands. Calcasieu Parish is flat, the water table sits high, and a downspout dumping four hundred gallons at a slab corner during a September rain is a foundation problem wearing a roofing costume.

Fascia & Soffit
Fascia and soffit are where wind gets into a house, and in this parish they are also where the 2021 repairs were cheapest. A slope of shingles is visible from the road so it got done properly.

Chimney & Chase Flashing
Most of what gets called a chimney leak in Lake Charles is neither a chimney nor flashing. It is a rusted metal chase cover on a factory-built fireplace, and that is a two hundred dollar part sitting on top of a two thousand dollar repair if you leave it alone.

Emergency Tarping
We tarp with battens like everybody else, because on a shingled slope in wind there is no other method that holds. What we do differently is write down every hole we make and come back to deal with it.

Commercial Roofing
Commercial roofing in this parish means working around operating industry. Between the Ship Channel plants, the contractors who serve them, and the warehouse and office stock along Interstate 10, plenty of our work happens on sites where a torch is not going anywhere near a roof.

Insurance Claim Documentation
We are roofers, not adjusters, and in Louisiana that line is a legal one. We document a roof thoroughly enough that your adjuster has nothing left to guess about, then answer questions on site.
What Lake Charles Customers Say
They found four soft spots in my decking that the 2021 crew had covered straight over, showed me photos from the attic, and the price for the sheathing was already written on the quote. No surprises on the second day.
I phoned about a ceiling stain fully expecting somebody to sell me a whole roof. They traced it to an old tarp screw, patched two square feet of decking and charged me for a half day. That is the entire story.
Wanted metal and they walked me through why the cheap panel's warranty would not cover a house this close to the plants. Ended up with a coated standing seam roof and the actual warranty document in my hand.
Our carrier had gone under and nobody could tell us what to do. They photographed everything by elevation, wrote a scope we could hand over, and never once offered to negotiate the claim for us.
Lake Charles Premium Roofing handles roof replacement, leak repair, storm restoration and low-slope membrane work across Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish. We hang seamless aluminum gutters, set PVDF-coated standing seam metal, rebuild rotted fascia and soffit, and replace the sheathing underneath all of it when it needs replacing, on houses and on commercial buildings alike.
The thing that makes a roof different here is what sits under the shingles rather than what sits on top of them. Between August and October 2020 most of this parish spent five weeks under tarps held down by furring strips screwed straight through the deck, and when the permanent roofs went back on in 2021 and 2022, a great many of those holes went under them undocumented.
So we start in your attic and read the deck before we price anything above it. In practice that means a per-sheet number for sheathing written into the quote before you sign, a straight answer when a targeted repair will outlast a replacement you were expecting to buy, and a permit pulled with an inspection scheduled on every reroof, which Louisiana has required since August 2025.
About Lake Charles Premium Roofing in Lake Charles, LA
We are a roofing company working out of Lake Charles across Calcasieu, Cameron, Beauregard, Allen, Jefferson Davis and Vernon parishes. Shingles, standing seam metal, low-slope membrane, gutters and the sheathing under all of it. Residential is most of what we do, and we run commercial work along the Interstate 10 corridor and for the contractors serving the Ship Channel plants.
Our whole approach comes out of one local fact. This parish spent the autumn of 2020 under tarps, and the permanent roofs that went on afterward were built fast, by crews who mostly left, over decking nobody documented. We read that history before we quote, because it decides what your roof actually needs and it is invisible from the ground.
Some of what we tell people costs us the job. A roof under ten years old with a single ceiling stain needs a patch, and that is what our quote will say. A coating sprayed over asphalt shingles is not a product any manufacturer approves and we will not apply one at any price. Hire somebody else for those two and you are hiring somebody who is wrong.

Service Areas
Lake Charles Premium Roofing serves Lake Charles, LA and surrounding communities including:

Commercial and industrial roofing across Southwest Louisiana
We work on warehouses, offices, retail, churches and the contractor yards that serve the Calcasieu Ship Channel plants. That last group sets the rules for a lot of what we do: hot-work restrictions mean cold-applied and mechanically fastened systems instead of torch-applied membrane, and site access has to be scheduled around operations rather than around us. We survey rooftop equipment and drainage separately, because on a low-slope roof over flat ground those are usually the real problem.
- ✓Mechanically attached, fully adhered and self-adhered TPO single-ply systems
- ✓Cold-applied two-ply modified bitumen where open flame is not permitted
- ✓Uplift design reviewed against the manufacturer's tables for your building height
- ✓Infrared and core-sample moisture surveys before any restoration coating
- ✓Rooftop equipment curbs, gas line supports and abandoned penetrations rebuilt
- ✓Drain, scupper and overflow sizing checked against the current adopted code
- ✓Silicone and acrylic restoration coatings on aged but dry membrane
- ✓Night and weekend scheduling for occupied retail and plant-adjacent sites
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Louisiana license roofing contractors?
Yes, and the rule changed recently. Since January 1, 2026, anyone advertising, bidding or performing residential roofing work valued at $7,500 or more must hold a residential roofing or residential construction license from the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors. A home improvement registration no longer covers roof work. Get the license number and run it through the board's own roster yourself before you sign anything.
Does a reroof in Lake Charles need a permit?
Yes. A 2025 state act requires a permit and an inspection for all roof construction and reroofing, residential and commercial, effective August 1 of that year. The City of Lake Charles permit center on Pujo Street handles work inside the city, and the parish handles the rest. We pull it, we schedule the inspection, and the fee belongs in your written scope.
My roof was replaced in 2021 and it is leaking. Do I need another new roof?
Almost certainly not. The most common leak we find on rebuild-era roofs is an old tarp batten screw that was covered over rather than sealed, and the repair is a patch of sheathing and a few shingles. Get somebody into your attic to find the actual entry point. If a contractor recommends replacement without going under the deck, get a second look.
What building code applies here?
Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish are on the 2021 International Residential Code and 2021 International Building Code as approved by the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council, effective January 1, 2023. That governs fastening patterns, underlayment, edge metal and ventilation on your reroof. We write scopes to it and the inspector checks against it.
My insurance company went out of business. What happens to my claim?
Twelve Louisiana homeowners carriers were declared insolvent between July 2021 and February 2023. If yours was one, the Louisiana Insurance Guaranty Association takes over covered claims, pays up to $500,000 per occurrence and applies a $100 deductible. The documentation requirement is the same as with a live carrier, so photographs, test squares and a written scope still decide the outcome.
Is there any help paying for a stronger roof?
The Louisiana Fortify Homes Program, run by the state Department of Insurance, offers grants of up to $10,000 toward upgrading an existing primary residence to the FORTIFIED Roof standard, and state law requires insurers to discount premiums once the certification is issued. Funding opens in rounds rather than continuously, so check the department's site before you schedule work.
